14 December 2018, Belgian Senate motionResolution on Combating Antisemitism”*

The Belgian senate adopted a motion calling the government to apply the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) Working Definition on Antisemitism.

*The text of the motion does not explicitly refer to the additional examples. Yet, since it does not explicitly exclude them,, we consider that the Parliament of Belgium has called the Government to apply IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, including the additional examples.
However, it is also important to underline that the motion also states that “this working definition cannot prejudice the legal framework of freedom of expression as defined in the Constitution and in the case law of the Constitutional Court as well as in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms”.
